DPAC's Total Quality Management (TQM) system begins when new product opportunities are first identified, and ends with a fully certified, ISO9000 manufacturing process. All new product development programs are controlled through DPAC's stage gate review process that begins with a clear definition of new product features and functions that are then reviewed with our OEM customers to ensure that all DPAC products come to market with the feature sets our customers need. Projects are then tracked as they move from specification, through prototype development, design verification (DVT) and agency testing, pilot production and finally into full production and final release. This systematic, controlled approach to new product development guarantees that product designs are stable, reliable and fully meet our customers' requirements before they are released to production.
Throughout the development and manufacturing process all DPAC products are fully documented and controlled through our engineering change control process. All changes are reviewed by a cross–functional management team to assess the impact on changes not only within DPAC's own Operations organization, but also on our customers' operations and our customers' products in the field. All changes are coordinated and communicated to our customers before products hit their docks.
Once released, products go to our ISO certified factories where statistical process control, state of the art automated assembly processes and advanced RF test systems are used to ensure the highest quality end product. New products are initially released for a low volume, pilot production to validate manufacturing assembly and test processes. Once released to full production, our on–going reliability and performance characterization processes are used to continually monitor product quality and performance to ensure that all products shipped to our customers meet our stringent, industrial grade specifications and will operate reliably once in the field.
But, DPAC's TQM system goes beyond just out–going product quality control and processes. With established metrics for customer service, technical support, on–time delivery and more, we have extended our quality system to ensure that our OEM customers receive not just best in class products, but also world–class service and support.
